A major highlight of this year’s Auto Expo will undoubtedly be Renault’s F1 car, the R.S. 17. It won’t be a replica either but the actual 2017 F1 car driven by Kevin Magnussen and Jolyon Palmer for most of last season. The car is built on a honeycomb monocoque chassis made from carbon fibre powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged V6 engine paired with a 8-speed semi-automatic transmission.

Continuing the EV theme, expect to be blown away by Renault’s electric GT concept at the Auto Expo 2018. The two-seater performance car was first displayed at the 2016 Paris Motor Show and truly is a masterpiece of ingenuity and imagination. The chassis is made from carbon-fibre while power comes from a Formula E electric motor producing approximately 350 bhp. Two large batteries also propel the electric motor achieving 0-100 km/h in just 4 seconds. It may be a glimpse into the future of motoring but at this stage, the Renault Trezor is more about showing off their incredible R&D prowess.

It’s not all about sport and performance as Renault will also display their entire range from the entry-level Kwid to the recently launched Captur. Some say that the new generation Renault Duster might be at the Auto Expo 2018 but reports are yet to be confirmed. In addition, Renault announced that they will have a host of customer-engagement programmes for the visitors to look forward to.

The Renault Zoe

Perhaps one of the most anticipated launches is the Renault Zoe electric hatchback. It’s been a sensation in India’s online community and is already on sale in European markets. Powered by a 41 kWh battery, the Zoe offers drivers an incredible range of 400 km with an even more impressive recharge time. Reports suggest it takes just 65-80 minutes for a full charge when using Renault’s quick-charger.

The Auto Expo 2018 lays the perfect platform for market research to gather vital data and determine future markets for the Renault Zoe in particular. Let’s hope that soon, this electric hatchback could be on a showroom floor near you.
