South African Renault Triber Review
With the recent launch of the Triber in South Africa we were privileged to be one of the first dealerships to put it through its paces. The following Renault Triber Review is based on our first impressions (and boy are they good!).
For starters the Renault Triber has some very impressive fuel consumption figures for a Multi-Purpose Vehicle and is also surprisingly big on space. This along with its ample safety features means it is both an affordable family vehicle as well as a very competent urban runaround.
From its fully digital instrument cluster with LED illumination to its driver and front passenger airbags to its front power windows and Radio with FM/AM tuner, Bluetooth® audio streaming and hands-free calls this is a vehicle that is future proof. In fact we enjoyed driving the Triber as much as we did because of the functionality, safety and comfort features which are standard across the entire range. Of course, these features just get better as you move up the trim levels, which are the Renault Triber Expression, the Renault Triber Dynamique and the Renault Triber Prestige. The top of the range Prestige was our favourite however and it comes standard with:
- LED DRL
- 15” Flex wheels
- 3D Spacer fabric upholstery
- One touch up driver’s powered window
- Keyless entry with push-button start/stop
- 2 x Tweeters at the front to enhance your Multimedia and Technology
- A 12V Power socket at the rear)
- Front side airbags
- Reverse parking camera with guidelines
- And Metallic paint options
Space for Everything
There has been an evolution in interior layout adaptability and the Renault Triber is at the forefront of these changes. It offers a first-of-its-kind modular approach to the seating arrangement inside the cabin which allows you to easily switch between numerous vehicle “modes” that can make this exciting vehicle into a 7-seater people carrier in tribe mode to a 5-seater in life mode, a 4-seater in surf mode and a 2 seater in camp mode. We used the Triber in all 4 of these modes and there was space for everything we asked it to do. This new dynamic vehicle layout is something you literally will need to see to believe, so we suggest that you visit us at one of our Group 1 Renault Showrooms in either the Cape Town or Johannesburg to experience the future of vehicle interior design today.
This innovative vehicle truly wowed us with its features as well as its comfortable driving style. It is a truly versatile vehicle that not only looks good but also offers a lot of “bang for your buck”. In our opinion the Renault Triber is one of the very best affordable SUV like vehicles to have ever hit South African shores and we strongly believe that it is going to be a massive hit with the car loving public in South Africa.
